In Vedic astrology, Mars (Mangal) and Venus (Shukra) are considered natural enemies. This enmity stems from their positions in the zodiac, as they are placed opposite each other in the 1-7 house axis—Mars rules Aries (Mesh Rashi), while Venus rules Libra (Tula Rashi). These two signs and their ruling planets have fundamentally different natures. Mars is a hot, fiery, aggressive planet associated with action, dominance, and assertion, while Venus is a cool, gentle, and sensual planet that signifies love, beauty, harmony, and pleasure. Because of this contrast, Mars and Venus often clash when placed together or when influencing areas such as relationships, partnerships, and marriage. Their inherent incompatibility creates tension, especially in emotional and intimate bonds, which can lead to arguments, misunderstandings, or even long-term conflicts. To harmonize the energy between Mars and Venus, the presence and influence of Mercury (Budh) becomes crucial. Mercury represents communication, logic, intellect, and negotiation. Whenever two individuals are experiencing conflicts rooted in miscommunication or difference of opinion, Mercury provides the necessary bridge for understanding and resolution. It facilitates clear expression and helps dissolve confusion, which is often the root cause of disputes between Mars and Venus energies. Similarly, the Moon (Chandra) plays a vital role in restoring balance during emotional conflicts. While Mercury works through speech and reasoning, the Moon operates on the emotional and mental level. When Mars’s aggression becomes too intense and leads to impulsive or hurtful behavior, Moon remedies help calm the mind and reduce emotional turbulence. Interestingly, Mars is debilitated in Cancer—the sign ruled by the Moon—signifying that emotional softness weakens Mars’s harshness. Therefore, when dealing with aggression, ego, or dominance issues in a relationship, remedies related to the Moon can help soothe and stabilize the emotional atmosphere.
On the other hand, when Venus is afflicted or under stress—especially in practical or overly analytical environments—its creativity, romanticism, and sense of beauty can get suppressed. Venus becomes debilitated in Virgo, a sign ruled by Mercury, which represents critical thinking, analysis, and service. Virgo is also the natural sixth house, associated with work, routine, and problem-solving energy. In such a space, Venus’s light, imaginative, and artistic qualities struggle to thrive. The warmth and rational structure of Virgo overwhelms Venus’s desire for aesthetic freedom and emotional connection. Therefore, when Venus is weakened or troubled in the birth chart, remedies involving Mercury can help by promoting better understanding, mental clarity, and flexibility. By strengthening Mercury, we allow Venus to function more gracefully in environments where it may otherwise feel restricted or judged.
In the context of relationship issues—whether it is marriage, romantic connection, or partnership—astrological analysis should always consider the condition of both Mars and Venus. If either planet is afflicted, placed in difficult houses, or under malefic influence, it can cause discord, passion imbalances, or emotional detachment between partners. When these problems surface in a chart, performing appropriate remedies for Mars and Venus is essential. Alongside these, the support of Mercury and Moon becomes necessary, as they offer practical and emotional solutions respectively. Since both Mercury and Moon are fast-moving planets, the effects of their remedies are usually noticeable within a short span of time, often bringing immediate relief in strained relationships. Thus, for astrologers and individuals seeking harmony in love and companionship, a combined focus on Mars, Venus, Moon, and Mercury provides a deeper understanding and a more effective path to healing and resolution.

Every planet draws its strength and energy from its Mool Trikon sign — its core power source. When a planet connects with its true zone, its influence becomes more focused, vibrant, and effective in your life.”

Dear Lacode 5031, How can I manage relationship conflicts caused by Mars ruling my 7th house (Aries), while Venus rules my Ascendant?and what is mercury’s role in my chart help me improve communication in relationships?>
-
In your chart, Venus is placed in the ascendant (lagna), and it carries the qualities of Mars. This means your relationships will thrive the moment you stop feeling that everything is your responsibility or that things must always go your way. Since Mars is in your 7th house, true happiness and creativity in your relationships will come when you start valuing your partner’s perspective and are willing to go along with them at times. Trust, flexibility, and shared understanding are the keys to joy and harmony in your love life.

When we do remedies it balances the energy. My question is, from where it takes the energy ? Is it the house that planet rules, planet sitting or the relation that planet signifies (i.e. Me in 3H Scorpio, when remedy is done for Me- will it take energy from Kids (Me) or Brother (3H) or In-laws (Scorpio) or lets say Me rules 1st (self) & 10th H(Fathers family)). In 2 cases I have observed it is the relation which planet signifies.
