Wisdom is governed by Mercury as per Hora Sara but how you act truly on that wisdom (common sense, worldly knowledge) and how far it will take you is governed by Jupiter.
That is why it also says that when Mercury is in 8th – the person is troubled by poison, will have an intent to cause vicious harm to the masses and use weapons which will cause destruction for himself – अपने पैरों पर कुल्हाड़ी मारना
That is why –
गु-शब्दस्त्वन्धकारः रु-शब्दस्तु तन्निवारकः ।
अन्धकार निरोधत्वात् गुरुरित्यभिधीयते ॥The word ‘gu’ stands for darkness, the word ‘ru’ stands for the removal of that. Due to the removal of darkness, (he) is called a ‘guru’ (teacher).
Jupiter in 8th has the power to bring out person from the gravest of the grave situation that is why it eventually goes on to rule the 9th house, where the stairs are towards serving the masses and guiding them without any malicious intent.
While writing this – I did realise that Adolf Hitler may have Mercury in 8th and when I opened his chart, it was no surprise that indeed he had Mercury with Sun, Venus (retrograde) and Mars and Mercury is in Aries navansh which falls in 8th house of D1 chart.

Even Mercury in your DOB is prominent, it is not harmful, you are just to obsessed about getting to know things from others and react at the wrong situation at the wrong time, stop doing that

eventually Jupiter is in 8th so it will progress towards 9th house also be it in the form of transit, varshaphal or planetary progression and eventually in next birth, you may get it fixated there – that’s how Bhrigu samhita is read too

Mercury in Sagitarius rashi in the 8th house and Mercury in Scorpio navmansh. Mercury is my atamkaraka. I used to talk a lot, but I’ve noticed changes in myself since 2016, and I hardly talk to people now. I have been warned never to keep medicines around me by an astrologer when I was a teenager.
i too have a mercury sun in scorpio it the 4th house being a leo ascendant never in my life have i ever thought to hurt the massses maybe because of jupiter in the 5th house and moon venus in the third (shub kartari)
