Most commonly used system is Vimshottari Dasha which is based on the Nakshatra occupied by the Moon, from there the sequence begins & move forward. It provides a broad theme about how one is going to experience certain time periods.
It’s based on Moon’s position as Moon is about the qualitative nature of how we experience reality. Vimshottari dasha is phalita dasha, all kinds of general results can be seen from it. Each planet has respective time period and they give the results based on their position in various divisional charts.

Another type of Dasha system is Kaal Chakra Dasha “the Wheel of Time” which is based on the Rashi/Sign. Sudden changes & events of life can be calculated through Kaal Chakra Dasha. It tells more about what will be happening qualitatively on external level.

There are numerous Dasha Systems & each system defines the synchronous way of Nature, how it functions & changes our flow of life. Nothing is random, there’s a pattern in everything & Dasha system is one of the tool through which one can understand the cyclical process of events.
